How is the track condition out there for it to run on.

When I drove past on October 29, a tie gang was working near Kanorado, and a westbound train was dumping ballast in spots just east of Vona.  A friendly MofW supervisor said that the company was trying to get all of the track up to 25 mph.

He showed me a photo of the 4460 still being painted in the shop at the time, adding that Kyle plans to paint a second unit in camouflage.

That special paint scheme looks good!

Great shot leaving Goodland! Is that a new elevator switcher in the background?

Thats a nice looking semiquincentenial paint job.  For a second I wondered if the elevator switcher was the same one that John spotted on the Salt Lake, Garfield, & Western last month.  It's not, but it's pretty darn close.

This one is 4410, the one in SLC was 4411. Both appear to be ex-SOO units.

I just dont think it looks good; GW has to understand that not everything has to have black and yellow or orange.

I am happy that they are painting stuff atleast and I am very happy with your images, very good job.

The similar look and number is what caught my eye and made me go back and check the numbers. I haven’t seen many non/dynamic Geeps with a winterization hatch, pretty unusual for me at least.

Great catch and photos of the unit.  Very nice looking and the first 250th I have seen---hopefully other roads will have some as well.

Oy that horrible tint of yellow.
Makes CNW Zito yellow look beautiful.
