Western Railroad Discussion > Overpowered BNSF Provo to DenverDate: 11/29/25 22:17 Overpowered BNSF Provo to Denver Author: Paniolo_man Today as I was making my way to Price I stopped by provo yard to find that the Provo to Denver BNSF daily had 8 locomotives on the front and 2 on the rear. Typically they do this, they drop 5 engines off at the Price River Treminal to pick up an oil train, I assume that was the reason here.
I photographed it as it slowly pulled out of the yard, then drove a little ways up the track to film it where it would be going a little faster. The moment I ended the video, the westbound Denver to Provo came through the trees. I managed to start another video just in time to film it going by. It made very good time up the canyon, I can usually catch up to a train before Tie Fork, this train rivaled the pace Amtrak takes up this hill. I watched it again at Soldier Summit and Kyune, though lighting didn't favor photography or video. I did manage to film it again in Price under a bridge that was well lit.
After getting some supplies, I returned to the bridge for Amtrak #5. I hadn't planned to go anywhere this weekend on account of the holliday road madness and tomorrow's snowstorm, but a $30 hotel deal in Price changed my mind. For that much, I'll take a little drive to see some trains and some desert. You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today!
