Every time I see one of these, I seeTrainman&Engineer jobs lost. A locomotive disquise as MOW. Had one here near Chiloquin, Or picking up used ties. They were moving around 30MPH when not working.

I have said it before, and I will say it again.

This is the union's fault.

Any MOW equipment movement on the rails 10 or 15 or 20 MPH must be operated by a terratory qualified full train crew, meaning engineer and conductor.

Maybe add a qualifier, such as if the consist has a total estimated weight of under 100 tones up to 25 MPH allowed with only MOW personal operating.

Can we assume that to get to the mow local area an engineer was in operating the units?

Better than having a Herzog MPM or Loram SPS doing it. At least the UP MOW employees operating it pay into Railroad Retirement.

Very interesting video to watch!
Added plus is the smoking diesels at the end when they are done.
