Western Railroad Discussion > Unloading Panel Track In RitzvilleDate: 02/18/26 20:48 Unloading Panel Track In Ritzville Author: walstib Big excitement in Ritzville this morning when a BNSF crane tied up the mainline to unload 5 sections of panel track at the 90 freeway bridge west of downtown.
I caught the tail end of the unloading process, and put together a short video, and some photos. After unloading the track, the crane returned to the Ritzville yard, ran around a flat car, and came back to unload a piece of equipment from a trailer. I sped up the videos for your viewing pleasure. I included a number of stills at the end of the video. The other picture in the post shows the crane after it arrived last week, with five sections of track. It was parked behind the grocery store. You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. I don't remember seing anything like it before. Maybe the film clip should be sent to BNSF management so they can see how fast workers move to get their work done. (HaHa)
Bruce Stikkers St. Joseph, IL Date: 02/19/26 07:51 Re: Unloading Panel Track In Ritzville Author: Gonut1 The machine is a Tinbin TC2 (Google it) hydrovac excavation tool. Like a portable Hydro Vac truck.
I'd guess this will be used to clear up that mud pump BNSF has been picking at. Nice video! Gonut Date: 02/20/26 11:01 Re: Unloading Panel Track In Ritzville Author: SCKP187 Nice video of the process. Why the panel track in Ritzville—are they building another track or is this just the MofW storage/protect location?
Also noticed Larry’s back yard in some of the video—had the pleasure to shoot a couple of trains from that point. Brian Stevens Posted from iPhone Date: 02/20/26 11:08 Re: Unloading Panel Track In Ritzville Author: walstib They staged the track just shy of the bridge across the 90 freeway, so it appears the track will go on the bridge.
Photo shows the bridge. Date: 02/24/26 13:34 Re: Unloading Panel Track In Ritzville Author: Sasquatch Love the way you do your vids and photos, Brian...thanks for always posting righteous stuff of the Ritzville happenings!
