Utah Iron Ore Trains - Update
Author: cjvrr

As a follow up to the post last week, Utah Iron

Utah Iron had a train sitting near the main gate on February 21, 2026.

Photo by my son Adam Vitz.  He was heading back from a railfan trip to the Caliente Sub.  The train was not there Saturday morning but was in this spot Saturday evening.

Utah Iron ran their first iron train on 2/19. Departed early morning from Cedar City and made it to Las Vegas by Midday. If it becomes a weekly train I would assume Thursdays might be Iron train day. I will keep an eye out on the Caliente NV railcam for any other iron ore trains. Im glad they are back up and running and that their Dash 9s still have a little life in them.
