Westbound manifest pulling through CP B283 on the North Platte Terminal Sub, 2/27/2026.  Nice to see a clean leader in fresh paint, although I do miss the wings.

Good looking units. Neat to see them elephant style. 2 green eastbound signals—must be getting ready to be busy.
What is the cars on far right track—are they bad order set outs?

Very nice, Mike!  I like the new scheme and will not really miss the wings.

Yes, they were.  The signal on Main 2 was for a "double" AEPX coal load which came into the scene just seconds after I shot this image.  The exhaust from its locomotives ruined any chance of a "meet" shot.  I should have shifted a bit to the right when I heard him coming.  I didn't hang around to find out who/what was lined out on the departure lead.

Correct, and the well cars have been there for at least three days.  The other cars were placed there yesterday morning.

You're not the only one!  And don't forget that the winged shield on the nose predated the flag on the hood.  Many of us are sorry to see them disappear again...

I've never really shot much at the Yard's west end.  But I'll be there for a few days next month, so now I've got a new spot to check out!

Thanks,

Craig

Nice shot but I agree.... I do miss the wings. The nose seems naked without them.
