It does exist but it likely has either not been painted yet or siting somewhere in Little Rock away from everything. https://www.up.com/press-releases/heritage-steam/big-boy-western-leg-260126 Date: 03/03/26 07:42 Re: UP 1776 America 250 Locomotive Author: 18_lbs I looked it up last week and the information I found looked like another SD70M, previously UP 4164.
I was really hoping this time we would get a desirable locomotive like a GE but UP still decided to put lipstick on a pig. -18_lbs Date: 03/03/26 09:53 Re: UP 1776 America 250 Locomotive Author: PHall 18_lbs Wrote:

It's not like they're taking power off a train that might make them some more money. Yeah, lets go 2x1x0 and 16,000 feet. Hell, lets just go a step further, and make 1x2x1 and 20,000 feet, jackasses! Running a 14,000ft 30,000ton manifest over the east coast mountains......what could possibly go wrong?!?!! Press release calls it "[...] the railroad’s newest locomotive: No. 1776". Will be quite a trivia item if their newest locototove turns out to be an SD70M. Date: 03/17/26 13:51 Re: UP 1776 America 250 Locomotive Author: UPSteamFan Confirmed to be an SD70M, formerly UP 4164. It is in Council Bluffs now and I’d imagine it’ll head west soon since the tour starts in 12 days.
