Western Railroad Discussion > Heads Up - F7A MUSX 9163 On The Move

Former CN F7A locomotive, now numbered MUSX 9163, was moved yesterday from Alamosa, Co to Walsenburg, CO by CPRG.  It is currently at Walsenburg awaiting movement by UP to Pueblo where it will be interchanged to BNSF.  BNSF will move it to its new home at the Museum of the American Railroad in Frisco, TX.  Once rebuilt and repainted, the museum will have a full A-B-B-A set.  We are very excited.  

BNSF has directional running on the Madill Sub so I'm nearly positive the locomotive will have to route through Tulsa, OK.  I'll post the route as soon as I get the word.  There are such great photographers on this site and any photos of the locomotive en route would be greatly appreciated.

This one is currently in Pueblo on UP awaiting further movement.  It came north last night with GECX 2014.  Sounds as if UP will interchange to the BNSF here in Pueblo in the next day or so.   Ben

Will the A-B-B-A set be operational or stuffed and mounted?

Thank you.  So correction, we will have an A-B-A set and we are on the hunt for another B unit.  Both A units will be operational.  For awhile anyway, maybe quite a while, the B unit will not be operational.  All will be in Santa Fe passenger Warbonnet paint.  Thanks again for the great photos and the information.

How’s the 59L project progressing?

Hi Evan. What a laborious task! To me, an overwhelming one! But thanks to our dedicated volunteers, work progresses. Still a long way to go to have the Alco restored but the promise and commitment remain. I will try and get a recent photo for you. rww
