Western Railroad Discussion > BNSF Hi-Wide Move - Heads up Needles-Barstow-Mojave SubDate: 03/04/26 19:53 BNSF Hi-Wide Move - Heads up Needles-Barstow-Mojave Sub Author: tferk BNSF is moving some hi-wide loads from the Port of Houston to Boron, CA, as a special train. Here is it passing through CP Maine at Parks, AZ, this morning. At 3pm it was stopped at Berry, just east of Kingman, AZ. As of a few hours ago, I had not seen it pass the Kingman railcam.
Lead unit is BNSF 5082. Symbol is J-GUPBOR1-05A (re-symbolled from J-PTNBOR1-26A at Gallup, NM.) Ted Ferkenhoff Flagstaff, AZ Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/05/26 04:22 by tferk. So makes me wonder, these transformers headed for one or more of the large solar farms in the Mojave Desert region? Or for use at the physical mine at Boron? ~ Mr. MRL Date: 03/05/26 05:46 Re: BNSF Hi-Wide Move - Heads up Needles-Barstow-Mojave Sub Author: sp8234 Made it to Barstow California East Railcam at 5:36am & the Station one at 5:41am but somewhat blocked by a train.

The flats are used in this case for braking purposes to bring down the TOB, tons per operative brake, which has maximums in the timetable and special instructions.
