In this group, you captured a "Dual Mode" VECTRON from Rhein Cargo. Note the big radiator intakes like the Chargers have.

With no Cummins that needs def fluid

We did Basel to Amsterdam last summer, sailing through the Rhine Gorge with all the trains and large boats was one of the high points of the trip.  Note the tunnel entrances were designed by the Germans to look like castles so the Allied Air Crews would not bomb the tunnels, at least that was what our cruise director told us! Hope you're having fun, we're ready to do it all again!

Edit: I assume you took these pictures today? If so your stop tonight should be Rüdesheim am Rhein. Make sure you get off the boat and take a stroll through the wonderful "Drosselgasse" area of the old town. Trains run right by the area and you can get pretty close...

We’re a couple days past that- but yes, I saw a few trains there at night and tried a few night shots (they kinda worked)
We tie up in Basil in the morning. We’re booked on the Glacier Express on Wednesday. The weather folks are calling for sunny and “warm” (50ish)

They would have had quite the time machine to do that - the tunnels were first built around 1860!

Picture #1 is the north portals of the Rossstein Tunnels. The "old" portal design is similar to that of the (old) Loreley Tunnel not far downriver. In 2005, these tunnels were completely rebuilt/modernized, being careful to preserve the architectural heritage of the original portals:

Plenty of photo ops there, hope you'll share some!  Thanks for these, well done, and should disabuse anyone of the notion there is no freight in Europe.  Oh, and I doubt many of these were traveling at a slow speed.

It's what the tour director told us on the Viking boat, may have just been a good story to tell the passengers...
