Mira Loma autos back on the LA&SL

For the second time in a week I've seen a westbound UP train of all loaded auto racks arriving Salt Lake City heading for the LA&SL route. It's been quite a while since they stopped running the MNPML trains this way in favor of using the "long way" via KC and the Golden State route. Curious if this is temporary due to maintenance or is this a permanent change? This morning's leader was UP8867

MNPML has never ran via the Sunset Route. Westbound auto trains out here are MSIML, MSIMLX.

The symbol was MG2MLX (Global 2, IL - Mira Loma, CA extra).
