Cascade Rail Foundation 5057 was photographed during an inspection visit to Columbia Rail on the afternoon of April 30, 2026. The paint job looks terrific.

There's still lots of work left to go before 5057 is ready to go on display. You can learn more about the project at the Cascade Rail Foundation website.

Do not visit this locomotive on railroad property. Cascade Rail Foundation is organizing a tour for the end of May. You can sign up on the CRF website in the next few days. Attendance is limited, so sign up early. Preferences are given to current CRF members and donors to the 5057 project

This is wonderful news.   Likely the first time a U-boat has received a fresh Milwaukee paint job since the last new GE's were built and delivered to the Milwaukee in the early 70's.   

Thank you for posting this good news and thanks to all who are contributing to this effort.   Please keep us updated with further photos of the 5057 as she progresses forward.
