Western Railroad Discussion > Dallas, way up highDate: 05/05/26 13:06 Dallas, way up high Author: WrongWayMurphy The lovely Mrs Murphy and I celebrated our 46th annivarsary at
the Hyatt Recency Hotel in Dallas, and had a supper way up in Reunion Tower. My seat had a good view of her and the trackage below of Dallas Union Terminal (1912 Beaux Arts passenger station). Funny it is called a terminal yet has always been a pass through station arrangement. (1). BN train coming into DUT off the Burlington-Rock Island joint track with a DART train coming into Dallas on the Green Line. (2). UP train arriving DUT from the west on the former T&P (3). 50 story Reunion Tower Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/05/26 13:19 by WrongWayMurphy. and a generic DART train from our Hyatt window. Food in the tower is pricey and quite good. One pays for the view, mostly. The ball used to spin one revolution per hour, but now is static. I was told management wanted the bar to have downtown as its backdrop 24/7 so it was shut off with the bar seats facing the skyline. Not sure how true that is though. My thought was that it needed work and the cost was going to by "sky-high" so they pulled the plug from the wall socket. What is this? Something Texas and Pacific constructed.
