UP's Beverly switch engine, YBV53, makes a round trip every weekday from Beverly to downtown Cedar Rapids.  On December 20, 2024, YBV53 is heading back to Beverly on CNW's original mainline with the transfer from North Yard. This is an uphill climb as the line gets farther from the Cedar River downtown, and sometimes the downtown job, YCR51, will act as a manned helper to push Job 53 up the hill.  This day though, two UP SD's have the transfer in hand as they near 8th Avenue SW. A few loads of John Deere tractors are back in the train, likely bound for the east coast and export. The tractors are loaded in Waterloo and Iowa Northern, now CN, brings them to Cedar Rapids for the UP. After the transfer is switched at Beverly, tractor loads going east are added to the next day's Boone to Chicago - BRC manifest train.
