28th Annual Evanston Roundhouse Festival

This year's Festival was held August 7-9, 2026. This was a great opportunity to
experience the wonderful restoration of the Roundhouse and Machine Shop, along
with other historical structures. As well as exploring the adjacent grounds.

A beautiful refurbishment.

Is the Union Pacific 4800 series diner, ACF 1949, still on hand there? It had been used in MofW service after UP joined Amtrak. I saw it there in 2019.

I believe so. The aim was to reuse as much as possible during restoration.

Terrific! Great to see.

Even some original venetian blinds remain in some of the windows. The car looks good, looking past the MofW Silver paint. It should make a very nice display in the future.
