Goss Stadium is the home for Oregon State University's baseball program and for the independent league (summer college league) Corvallis Knights.  I have been a fan of both teams but attend only the Knights - well because tickets for the Beavers games are scarce.  On a pleasant August night, the passing of Portland & WEstern's Toledo Hauler is an added treat.  Both clubs have embraced trains in that they sold a hat years ago that had the image of a little steam engine stitched on it, along with the word "Goss." 

Side story, when I was running the Toledo train, if there was a game playing I would at the very least slow down a hair and give a few extra toots of the horn.  The ultimate was the fellow who was running the Corvallis Local 15 or more years ago.  With no work pressing, he stopped his unit across from Goss and set up on the short hood of the unit.  As it was a remote unit, when ever our team would score, he gave the horn a toot. Oh, those were the good old days,
