BNSF 5197
Author: OCtrainguy

An easterner has a question that I need some help with. Last Saturday, I saw Norfolk Southern train 214 passing through South Plainfield on the Conrail Shared Assets Lehigh Line with two BNSF units. The first was 5197 while the second unit was 784, a red and silver warbonnet. My question is: What Heritage paint is the 5197 in? I have not seen many BNSF units, so I don't know. For those who may be interested, the full consist was BNSF 5197, BNSF 784 and PRR 8424 (Conrail Quality 8-40CW).

BNSF 5197 should be a DASH 9-44CW delivered in Heritage II paint.

It was a Dash-9. Thanks for the information.
