believe one is still operating as an SD45-2; at least two of them became Bunits, but I don't have numbers. i did recall seeing them; do a BNSF roster or ATSF roster search on google.

Let's see:

5700 to BNSF SD45-2B 7511, to NREX 7511
5701 to ATSF SD45-2B 5514, to BNSF 7508
5703 to BNSF 6492
5703 to BNSF SD45-2B 7506
5704 to BNSF 6484

I think that's got'em.

Wasn't the tunnel motor the 9389?

By the way BN's set of 1776/1876/1976 have gone to the four corners of the earth. The 1776 (BN 5325) has been scrapped, the 1876 (BN 6325) is now the BNSF 6397, a remote control yard SD40-2. And the 1976 (BN 6397) is now a Alstom rebuilt SD40-2M #3093 in a lease fleet.

Now what about Katy's GP40 #200, Milwaukee's SD40-2 #176, SCL's U36B 1776 and ICG's GP38AC ?

Think the Katy unit went to UP, and may still be there, although more likely, a lease unit. MILW "156" (cq) went to Mexico. SCL's 1776 went to CSX with ?#. May still be running although I doubt it. ICG's 2 GP38AC's, 9510 and 9503 are still running, although I'm not sure for whom.

SP GP40P-2 3197
SP U25BE 6800
SSW SD45T-2 9389 Most likely the only one left running.

The Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris, CA, has SP's Bicentennial U25B, still wearing the number it had when it was retired. (SP 3100)

http://www.oerm.org/pages/sp3100.html

3100 was part of the motive power consist for one of OERM's off-property work trains to Fontana last year along with the Santa Fe FP45.

Actually, the GP40P-2 is still running around, freshly rebuilt on the Indiana Harbor Belt, albeit with major surgery done to the rear stepwells and new rear end to accommodate switchman-friendly stepwells. The U25BE - SP 3100, as others have noted, is at the Orange Empire Trolley Museum in Southern CA, and sorry to say, I recall reading that the SSW 9389 was unceremoniously scrapped a year or two back at Cycle Systems back east.

I'm sure others will provide additional details/corrections as needed.

Best Regards,
Harry

If the ex-Seaboard bicentennial is still alive, it's not on CSX any more. CSX retired all of its U36B's during the mid-1990s. A few were sold to Transkentucky Transportation, but I don't know if the former bicentennial was one of those, or if any others avoided the torch.
