So. Cal News is reporting a UP derailment in San Bernardino, Calif. 2 cars that are on the ground are carrying Haz Mat Materials. Looks to be at least 10 cars on the ground. Local area is being evacuated. They said something about it being north of the 10 Freeway. Trackage appears to be single and in a ditch area. Hard to tell from a night shot from a helicopter. I'm sure others will have more info.

I was streaming KFI from LA late last night, and in their news, they referred to it as a "Southern Pacific" train.

There are many units on UPRR that are still lettered
SOUTHERN PACIFIC...perhaps some of those involved were, also..
..and knowing the media, they didn't know better....

Some maps still refer to it as SP.

As of 8:30 PM this evening, authorities were still not allowing residents in the area to return home. The clean up crew still haven't emptied out the tank car that was carrying a load of chlorine gas. This car was the greatest source of concern.
