I was wondering where this went after it was unloaded in Colorado. Where is the load deck for the kept car at when empty, is there a speed restriction when the car is empty? What does the rider do in the car when it is empty? (see link) http://southern.railfan.net/schnabel/cars/cebx800/brian/mvc696s.jpg Finally are there any other big loads on Schnabel Cars at this time. The deck once empty gets disassembled and goes back in the gondola's. The two halfs of Snabble get put together and the entire consist goes to their base or next project.
The riders usualy stay with car even if its empty.
there should be no speed restrictions on empty car.

That would kind of be a fun job. I'm sure he would appreciate them installing one of those mobile satellite TV dishes on the cab though. :-)

What does the rider do? Just monitor the move? Or does he control something?

The riders can control the move of the cargo deck sideways and do repairs to these cars.
