My UP 1988 red Katy photos in Arkansas Aug 27
Author: arkansasrailroader

Here are several photos I made today of UP 1988, the red Heritage unit, as it came south through Arkansas. There's a sound MPEG movie of it going through Altheimer, Arkansas in the webpage below which I put together.

The train had just crossed the bridge in the previous photo, just north of Humphrey, Arkansas at about 1:00 p.m. (Ken Ziegenbein)

It stopped in Humphery, Arkansas for a signal (there were about 4 slower freights ahead of it). It took about 2 1/2 hours to get from Brinkley to Pine Bluff, normally takes about an hour or so, but it made for easier chasing for sure. (Ken Ziegenbein)

Another shot at Humphery. One of the crew got off and chatted awhile.
