Steam & Excursion > PLA Wins TRAINS Preservation Award for Clover Valley #4Date: 11/17/09 07:09 PLA Wins TRAINS Preservation Award for Clover Valley #4 Author: LoggerHogger More good news for the Pacific Locomotive Association came in the form of the 2009 TRAINS Magazine Preservation award for their current rebuild of Clover Valley Lumber #4. This Baldwin Tank Mallet served her entire logging career out of Loyalton, CA for the Clover Valley Lumber Co. The last year (1957) the operation was bought by the Feather River Lumber Co.

This will be a shot in the arm for the re-build. Martin Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/17/09 07:09 by LoggerHogger. At least we can rest assured that the award went to a deserving preservation group that has the leadership and devotion of it's members to see this project to fruition. Sure beats a government beaucracy that more often than not bumbles a project into oblivion or sadly is unable to commit to what it takes to ensure a project like Clover Valley #4 gets completed. I have no doubts that the PLA's restoration of #4 will be nothing short of a first class act. Congrats! SV Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/17/09 18:37 by SandingValve.
