Some old EDAVille shots
Author: hepc46

Along with the previous 3 pics in the other thread, there were a bunch of old Strasburg and EDAville shots. Scanned the 7 Edaville shots, so here they are. Again, no date, and some overexposed. No idea who the girl hanging off the boxcar is...

How much of this equipment still exists? (excluding the girl, Ford and Plymouth)

Your second shot shows what appears to be a 6-chime whistle on the locomotive. Over the years I have seen other photos of Edaville engines with similar whistles, obviously not original to the loco. Any ideas where these came from - RR, etc?

Cheers,
Jack

I can recall one or two of the engines having those fantastic sounding B&M six chimes for a while in the late 1970s

IIRC, virtually all the equipment that once resided at Edaville was saved and moved to either Portland or Alma, ME when Edaville was facing shutdown due to land development. However, some equipment still remains at Edaville. Fortunately, by the late 60's and early 70's most of the Maine 2 footers were repainted out of the rather garish paint scheme into more authentic 2 footer colors. I believe there is a wealth of information about the Maine 2 Footers on a Mark I video--Massachusetts' Maine Attraction.

BTW, I grew up only about 25 miles from Edaville.

Thanks, LIL_BUDDY. That makes perfect sense!

Cheers,
