------------------------------------------------------- > What trip is this? > Steve The Saturday trip is from Harrison St. Mpls., MN to Willmar and return via the original "Empire Builder" route; Sunday will be 400 Harrison St., Mpls., MN to Boylston Jct. just south of Superior, WI and return, the route of GN's "Gopher" and "Badger". That run, north of Sandstone, MN on the Kettle River is quite scenic. The fall colors should be quite close to peak. "milw 261" into Google, the top Search result said this under the URL: "This site may be hacked." On Sat., Sept. 28, I posted a question about what happened to the 261's web site on the Friends' FaceBook site, which the Friends had last posted to on May 24 (!) and they replied to me yesterday (Sept. 24): "We are working on the website as fast as we can, dont forget we are also running a cross country trip." The "cross-country trip" is the "Station to Station" art train that is using some of their rolling stock. I wish them well in getting their website up and running soon. The Station to Station trip just ended recently, but the cars npw have to be gotten back to Minneapolis, so their work is far from over. Margaret |
