​Why can't Norfolk Southern operate a trip from Perryville, Maryland up the Port Road to Harrisburg and return?  There are tons of rail enthusiasts who would dearly love to have a trip here in Maryland and this is doable.  There is a Y at Perryville, Norfolk Southern has trackage rights on the Y even though part of it would be on Amtrak's N.E. Corridor for part of the turn-around.  This trip with 611 or any other approved steam engine that Norfolk Southern would operate will completely sell out.  Perryville is not that far Northeast of Baltimore and believe me, passengers will come from Baltimore, Wilmington, and Philadelphia and the surrounding areas for sure to ride this kind of trip.

The RR said no to the Manassas trips this year.  Those were VMT trips last year.

You should probably ask VMT if they considered that as a trip before deciding the RR was opposed to running that trip.
