Looks like anything west of Boise is not going to happen like the other post said. Darn still might have to  see what the weather brings and go east to Boise.

Isn't Nampa west of Boise? Is Boise still a through route, or can it be accessed only from the Nampa side? I see Nampa has a big wye, explains how they will change direction. Anybody have any indication of the train size? === === = === JLH

Sort of, yes.

Correct. No matter which direction the steam train comes from, one way or another the whole train must be either pulled backwards from Nampa to Boise (for a westbound operation), or pulled backwards from Boise back to Nampa (for an eastbound operation).

Okay, so wyeing at Orchard and backing to Nampa, presumably with a diesel on the rear leading for protection since that covers some distance and several grade crossings. Forward to the Boise depot, then after display backing with the diesel leading to return to Nampa, where it will be pointed the correct way to depart for Glenn's Ferry and Pocatello. Does that sound right? === === = === JLH

Right. 

No idea why they won't use the Nampa wye, but
no matter, there will be a back-up move Boise back
to Nampa.

Great news, now I just need to find some time to chase parts of this trip.  I'm still kicking myself for not following it out of Ogden a few years ago up Echo Canyon, need to make that work this time around.

Green River and Rock Srings are east of Granger. Is that the question?
