I was sorting some old photos and ran across this historical shot !     I wonder who the heck this could be  ??   (grin)

LOLOL!  <grin!>

Me, with a guy whose name I do not know, in Building 809
at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard.  I do not have any idea
as to exactl;y when this was taken, but it was before the
museum -- the GGRM -- had to ,ove out in 2005 (most
of our equipment).  Probably early 2000s.   (Yes, the file
name does include "sept05:",, but all that means is that\
thios nice photo was uploaded to the web then, not the
actual date it was taken.  

Those were fun days there.  I really enjoyed being a docent
(fancy word for tour guide).

Thanks, Ken, for the post!  (There are very few pics of me
on teh web,  I was always behind the lens, taking pictures
or busy doing something out of view of any photographer,,
or being a tour guide -- and how many people take pictures
of their tour guides?.)

Just as  an aside about the use of the term  "docent" ---back in 1984 when the Monterey Bay Aquarium was about to open they were referring to the trained volunteers as docents, a correct term  fir trained teaching people,  and co-founder Nancy Packard Burnetts son Jason kept referring to them as "donuts" so they changed the term to guides which I was  for 11  years and 2000+ hours!! Meanwhile, Jason ultimately was mayor of Carmel a few years back .

yes, in 1986.  Jason was mayor 2012.  He no doubt has political ambitions but has to cool his tail awhile as Leon Panetts's  son Jimmy just took the congressinal seat vacated by Sam Farr.   Clint just turned 84 and is stuffed and mounted and perched precariously at the ATT annual golf fest to say a very few words--- :-)
