Beautiful day in Boise....lots of people viewing the 844 and depot grounds....tomorrow is the depot 92nd birthday celebration. There is an absolute great view corridor from the Idaho capitol directly up to the depot. Arlen

The Idaho Statesman has extensive coverage of 844's arrival, including video clips from Nampa and Boise and an on-board segment during the ride from Nampa to Boise. To say the crowds were big and enthusiastic would be an understatement. A lot of coins apparently were flattened...

P.S. One thing that really struck me in watching the video of the train arriving at the Boise depot was the sea of upraised arms holding cell phones. That will really date the pictures a generation from now.

I was amazed at the crowds that turned out to see 844 at all the stops she made between Cheyenne and Soda Springs. Mostly local people from the look of it, and huge groups of schoolchildren. Wonderful to see!
