Any ideas as to location of this Roger Puta photo? The date Kodak put on the slide is August 1971.

This particular outing began in Atlanta in July and ended in Chattanooga in October, operating on the N&W and RF&P in addition to the Southern. (I believe you posted photos of this train on the RF&P a while back.)

This is the July - August portion of the tour.

If you accept the reasoning that photos taken on the 28th and 29th would be more likely to have a September date stamp, my first guess would be somewhere on the trip between Knoxville and Asheville on August 14th.
