C&TSRR = 463 = Fire

05-22-17 The Antonito crew lit a fire in 463 today.

What is the appliance off the top of the stack? Is it a
camera or some type of sensor? I note the cable attached to it.
My G-Scale 463 doesn't have it but could if it is integral to
the locomotive. Thanks in advance and I love the simple video. Good show !

Such stack fans are very commonly used when firing off "Live Steamers." There is just not enough thermal lift in a 1/8 scale stack. Running the loco's blower from a trackside compressed air supply is also very common.

At the the Colorado Railroad Museum ±50 years ago we used the exhaust from an old garden-variety canister vacuum cleaner. It worked, barely......
