Work Session Status Week Ending 05/20/2017

May 23, 2017

The work, for the most part, mirrored the past several weeks as we continually prepare for the official FRA hydrostatic test. Many of the minor staybolt leaks are being closed by Dr. Scott A. We now have one washout plug to address and a few studbolt leaks.

The secondary dynamo piping was fabricated and insulated this week.

Jacketing work continues as our workers custom fit the various individual pieces. There are many penetrations and obstructions to work around.

Volunteers installed the MU splitter box at the rear of the tender with the holes cut-in for one conduit in and two out. They also painted and hung the 1 1/4" MU rigid conduit under the length of the tender. three MU receptacles were mounted to brackets which will be welded to the tender.

As mentioned on my last report at the General Meeting we have hired a painter. He will begin with a repaint of the tender removing many imperfections from the last paint job. He is scheduled to begin work on Monday, May 29th, but most likely the 30th as the 29th is Memorial Day. He thinks he'll be done in one week.

The temporary letters have already been removed. The new letters with the proper font will go on after the new pain has cured.

We found rust crud in one of our 26L pipe bracket orifices causing the control problems. The gunk was removed so the pipe bracket will be remounted with it's component.

The week should be good for working so hope to see everyone at the site, and as always . . .

Keep on Steamin',
Rick Kirby, CMO
