After filming 844 + 3985 Elko Departure Eastbound, Somehow I managed to hightail it East across I-80 towards Wendover, get off the the interstate, and bump along the access roads up to the loop, get out of truck, hike up, and get positioned in time to get this shot. All told about an Hour plus if memory serves correctly. Plus given the time it takes for the UP to run around, up and over the mountains, (On the Ex WP) from Wells, Nevada to Cliffside, (I kind of already knew), But there must have been a photo run-by by Steve up the west face of the mountains east of Wells, or maybe a delay of some kind, or I just got lucky!

Love the view with the mountain in the background. I remember seeing plenty of trains along the loop over the years as we drove back and forth to Grandma's. but nothing like this one, great video!
