The Train is heading East, running flat out on the salt flat desert, east of Wendover,Utah. The heat makes a mirage of the smoke from the steam engines and passenger cars as they fade into the distance, heading towards Salt Lake City. Note the local lady clinging to her little poochie dog after the train goes by! Again somehow I made it all the way from Arnold Loop, banged and bumped down and around the rocky roads, even with a little back-tracking to reach the interstate, hauled ass to East Wendover, and got set up just in time to catch this shot. I'll bet Steve probably did another photo run-by somewhere West of Wendover, like maybe Ola Curve?
