Steam & Excursion > Worthington Feed Water HeaterDate: 06/20/17 04:26 Worthington Feed Water Heater Author: fltenwheeler Hi
I am looking for a picture of a Worthington B3 feed water heater builders plate. The 3 at the Illinois Railway Museum are missing the builders plate. Thanks Tim Date: 06/20/17 06:11 Re: Worthington Feed Water Heater Author: wcamp1472 Just a WAG, but I suspect that the N&W Y5 class, on loan to the Museum in Roanoke, might be a candidate for a sample plate...
If you found one, what would like to do, how would you make use of it? W. Posted from iPhone Date: 06/20/17 06:21 Re: Worthington Feed Water Heater Author: fltenwheeler I am building a Chicago North Western J class Mikado in 1.6 scale. To be specific locomotive 2530.It was 1 of 2 that had a Worthington pump on it.I was able to get pictures and messurments for the pump at the Illinois Railway Museum. But the plate was missing.

That's a worthy project. Any pics, so far ? OOOPS! Disregard the question, below,,, Original post was clear about this.... Re: the plate---- would a clear photo do? Or do you need more? W. Posted from iPhone Date: 06/20/17 07:33 Re: Worthington Feed Water Heater Author: fltenwheeler I have the size from the witness marks left by the plate on the Worthington feed water heater on Chicago Burlington & Quincy 4963. So I am looking for pictures of the letting on the plate.

BLW #60000, 4-10-2, stuffed & mounted ....This One-off was built in 1926, so maybe from same era that would be suitable ? What year, era was the engine you're modeling, built? W. The B pumps have a patent date of Nov. 16 1926. Patent number 1,606,880 The BL came later. Remember the pumps were in service before the patents were approved. I found some information on 2 plates. "BOILER FEED PUMP & FEED WATER HEATER" Or "LOCOMOTIVE FEED WATER HEATER and PUMP" Now to find out if it is one of these or a different one. Thanks Tim Posted from Android Edited 1 time(s). For your purpose? I was guessing about the BL nomenclature .... Now, I'm curious,,,( being in No. VA), I might make a trip up, to look at it... Or maybe a helpful reader lives in Philly and could snap a shot for your use ?? W.
