Steam & Excursion > UP 844+6936 6-29-1990 West Minnedoka-Shoshone, Idaho Chase Shots

Caught along the Highway between Minnedoka, and Shoshone,Idaho. 844 and her whistle is captured coasting along for a while, then Steve Lee adds some throttle 1/3rd of the way through the video. Not sure if Lynn or Bob K and company is firing?. Also Not sure what the Single whistle is about either, other than maybe Steve needing info from the crew, or maybe a friendly toot to us? Interesting that the sun was straight up enough, at a perfect angle to be shining thru the holes on the step plates along side of 844, and reflecting little sunlight dots on top of the wheels and side gear! This is a random selection, but important segment of about 1.5 hours total, of footage We caught of this westbound trip, While WWII Veteran Ken Heartsock drives the car, and has a great time reminiscing, as I shoot video through the passenger side open windows, at about 65 miles per hour, catching 844's syncopating sounds of her side rods. This UP special trip was for Idaho's Centennial or Bi-Centennial.

Yes, that was the trip for the Wyoming/Idaho Centennials. In Wyoming we had Governor Mike Sullivan riding with us. In Idaho, Governor Cecil Andrus preferred riding in the business car the whole time. Lynn fired for Steve from Pocatello to Shoshone and I fired from Shoshone to Boise.

Thanks Pro, and plenty more this trip, some still needs to be converted in real time,some has already been converted, just need to find time to edit, Plus currently changing/improving my whole video editing/processing Workflow for better results!

Nah, I would rather see it how it would have been seen in actual use, which would not have been a pacing shot.
