Steam & Excursion > 4449 on RFD TV Today

Someone called me and told me I was on TV as pilot on the 4449 back in 88-89, K Falls to Dunsmuir. The show was on RFD TV at 2:30 PM and showed the 49 fro Portland to LA via the Coast.
Sure enough and they had a second whistle on it with the handle on the Firemans side. It quit coming into Dunsmuir.

I remember those Daylight trains in Goleta growing up. Who knew I would be an engineer on the SP years later.

I recorded it so we can watch it when PBS is showing those interminable mush-mouthed British mysteries!! :-)

someone wanted to know if I could get a copy for them. My techie guru neighbor says that I can't copy it from my Directv recorder because it is encrypted or something. Anyway, the film was made by Greg Scholl productions in Batavia OHio so maybe he can be contacted fir getting a copy. Some of the footage is really stunning.
