Steam & Excursion > 819-1218-844-1522 -- all under steamDate: 08/18/17 14:19 819-1218-844-1522 -- all under steam Author: gcm Pictures of this event have probably been posted on TO before.
Here are a few of mine. In June 1990 a unique event happened at St. Louis Union Station. Cotton Belt 819 N&W 1218 UP 844 Frisco 1522 All under steam and next to each other. This was during the excellent 1990 NRHS Convention. Date: 08/18/17 14:20 Re: 819-1218-844-1522 -- all under steam Author: gcm (4-5) The area was taped off to keep everyone from wandering around the engines.
I guess this will never happen again. It was quite an experience. Gary Date: 08/18/17 15:25 Re: 819-1218-844-1522 -- all under steam Author: OKTrainboys The reason why nothing has been said yet is because many may be speechless. This event and the Roanoke NRHS event are most definitely the two I wish I could have seen.

It was a great time! Date: 08/18/17 16:34 Re: 819-1218-844-1522 -- all under steam Author: BLKMTN Man, that 819 is a good looking loco!

After all the work that got them restored in the first place, they should never be left in non running condition again. Even if they got used occasionally, they should be kept alive, or at least, intact, completely assembled in ready to run condition.
Just my two cents. Craig Hanson Vay, Id. Date: 08/19/17 03:21 Re: 819-1218-844-1522 -- all under steam Author: RailRat Steam!......Good!.....Like!

Thanks for that great run. I'll remember it anytime I head a steamer working up grade :-) Never a slip as I recall :-) John. That was the 2nd NRHS convention I attended. First was Boston in 1986 and last was again in St Louis in 2000 or 2001. The only reason I attended those conventions was that I stayed with friends or my sister, to save on exorbitant hotel costs.
