Steam & Excursion > Audio and Slideshow - Southern 401 with IC whistle

None of the video we shot so far this weekend is on the computer just yet (that will have to wait for Monday), but sound recordings are a different story. Here is a quick sample of some of the sounds of Southern 401 running with the I.C. whistle on Saturday. The photos were taken from 2011 through 2016.

The sounds were recorded using Zoom H4n recorders paired with Audio-Technica stereo microphones. I almost didn't mike the cab, as I assumed the whistle would seriously distort. As it turned out, the AT-2022 microphone was up to the task. AT-8022 microphones were used for trackside recordings.
