Western Pacific 0-6-0 165 - getting so close....
Author: zephyrus

Another WP 165 work session wrapped up last week falling in between our widely appreciated SP Rotary Run (https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4382123) and the Rededication of WP 106 business and Red Cross Blood Procurement Car "Charles O. Sweetwood" (https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4380060,4380060#msg-4380060)

The crew made some highly visible progress with various appliances and piping going back in, including a lot of brakework, gauges, headlight, bell and generator.

As you can see in the photos, she has also received a good dose of paint. We are at that wonderful point where it really looks like a locomotive!

Thank yous are just not enough for the great work done by everyone on the 165. From our core of talented volunteers to the great assistance from Wasatch Rail and folks from other museums and steam restoration projects. The list is a long one.

We are holding a big fundraising dinner in May 2018 to raise funds for the final restoration push. Please join us! We will be posting more info soon, but the evening is planned to include great food catered Longboard's of Graeagle, speakers from the steam restoration community and an auction of special items and gifts.

It's looking good. It will be great to see it running instead of how it looked sitting at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds.

Isn't that a great feeling when things start going back ON. Shows there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
