Sure looks like it to me, especially since we are descending the grade to Black Butt, where we will had the diesel helper/helpers for dynamic braking down to Dunsmuir.

The tiny detail of this photo that tickles me:  the speck of light on the rear of the observation car.  I don't know if it was the rear marker/mars or just a reflection, but I liked that the entire consist is bracketed it the photo. It helps with the overwhelming scale of things here.

Shasta is still "alive"--bubbling mud pots higher up on the slopes--last blew up while the Spainards were sailing off the California coast ~ 200 years ago...it could wake up again and obliterate everything...
