630 & 4501 - Doubleheader to Summerville
Author: typebangin

Here's a short video from the 2-day Lerro Productions photo charter that was held at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum last week. Both days featured Southern 2-8-0 #630 and 2-8-2 #4501 doubleheading with a short freight. On Monday the train operated on the 3-mile TVRM line from Grand Junction to East Chattanooga (1st clip). On Tuesday we rode from Chattanooga to Summerville, GA performing a number of runbys along the way. It was a fun 2 days with a couple of beautifully restored Southern locomotives.

Outstanding video! Pacing in a Packard. Looks like everything was set up extremely well with locations and vintage cars.
4501's whistle gives me goosebumps.
Thank you for sharing this.

Rates right up there with the BEST steam video ever posted on this board! Sound, framing, just everything near perfect.

That is, without a doubt, the best job tweaking that Viloco bell ringer. Don't even look at it crosseyed or it will behave like the rest of them. That is working perfectly. Every time I would get 1522's working good, the next day it either wouldn't start or the bell would spin in the hanger. They were a pain and yours is perfect.

My first car was a black, 1950 Ford 4 door. Also, got to ride behind 4501 when we lived in DC... Superb video!!
