Progress on AT&SF 2926

Scroll down to the photos from the last couple of weeks. There are photos of re-brassing the radial buffer plate between the engine and tender. Also, they have good photo coverage of installing the drawbar and safety, finally coupling up the engine and tender. Be sure and read the "work status" too. http://2926.us/Photos/photos.php

I had nothing to do with any of that, just passing along the link to their page. I wish I did live closer, I'd like to spend some time helping out, but I'm 800 miles away!

It is interesting to me that they are doing all this cosmetic work without having actually boiled water.

What???? I really don't think that attaching the tender to the engine, what with all the air, steam, water & fuel connections, is simply "cosmetic work"!

It looks like they have just been making new pieces of the jacketing and verifying that it fits. It does not look like they have installed the insulation and jacketing for service on areas that would need to be visible during the first steaming.

I was more referring to the jacketing being installed on the backhead, etc.
