Some Locations Where Steam Worked Are Easy to Identify!
Author: LoggerHogger

While many locations that railfans captured steam at work on film are not easy to recognize there are others that can quickly be spotted. Here, thanks to the railroad involved and the advertising behind the engine, we can quickly locate the scene.

In 1930 Ralph Demoro was in San Francisco and decided to catch State Belt Railroad #11 at work. He could not resist catching her shuffling cars in front of the large advertising for the Standard Crushed Rock Company.

Such was the life of the State Belt Railroad along San Francisco's Embarcadero.

Looks like maybe the brakeman is taking a leak by the tender?

Fascinating industry ther.
Ay idea how the overhead jib-boom crane loaded the receivers and how it moved along the bins?

His hands are by his sides, so not likely.
