D&SNG expects to resume full service Sept. 21
Author: Copy19

The Durango Herald reports that the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad expects to resume full operations between Durango and Silverton on Sept. 21 following repairs to the line which had been cut by major mudslides.  Trains have been running between Rockwood and Silverton with passengers bused between Durango and Silverton.  Two trains have been trapped on the Silverton segment.

Service to Silverton will end on the last Sunday in October as usual.

Have they added any more spark / cinder arresting devices to the smoke stacks of the locomotives?

I think the determining factor on what would be running during the summer, is going to be based on what fire restrictions are in place at the time.
