Steam & Excursion > Sumpter Valley Railway 2-8-2 No. 19 at SpeedDate: 11/29/18 15:24 Sumpter Valley Railway 2-8-2 No. 19 at Speed Author: Mgoldman Sumpter Valley Railway 2-8-2 No. 19 captured in a pan at 1/10th in Sumpter, Oregon at
the Sumpter Valley Railway on October 14th, 2018. No. 19 is a narrow guage locomotive bulit by Alco in 1920 for the original Sumpter Valley Railway (pretty amazing). The loco- motive stayed on the roster until 1941 when it was sold to the Pacific & Arctic Railway & Navigation Co. (WP&Y #80) at Skagway, AK. A group of dedicated fans managed to bring her, and sister No. 20, back from Alaska in 1977 to run on the rebuilt Sumpter Valley Railway. No. 20 sits outside by the engine house awaiting time and funds for restoration. Captured during Sumpter Valley's Railfan Photographer's Weekend. /Mitch Date: 11/29/18 18:14 Re: Sumpter Valley Railway 2-8-2 No. 19 at Speed Author: mfmalk Superb!
