By the looks of him, he'd probably done it hunfreds of times bedore as an engine wiper or a hostler attendant 20 or 30 years earlier.

Pat,
FYI, back in the day on the UP it was mainly the machinists that did the rod doping. All the major crew change terminals had roundhouses with staff.

Thanx Bob! It makes sense now that I think about it. However, I did some light lube work and  re-fueling on the Diseasels as an Engine Wiper and Hostler Attendant on 2nd trick at Albina from time to time many, many years ago!
