I'm looking for a good book on the Santa fe 4-8-4's and am hoping some of you on here can help me in a good choice to buy? Looking for something with good information, pictures, detailed technical data and improvements that were done to these engines over the years, along with final days in steam and survivors today. ‘Santa Fe Locomotive Development: Journey to Supreme Steam and Early Diesels’ is an excellent source. Larry Brasher offers a more technical study of the development of the Santa Fe’s finest. Author: Evan_Werkema If you have the "Trains Magazine Complete Collecition 1940-2010" back-issues DVD or a set of paper back-issues, Lloyd Stagner had a good article on Santa Fe's 4-8-4's in the February 1987 issue. As I recall, there was also an article on Santa Fe 4-8-4's in the "3751 issue" of Railfan & Railroad (April 1992).
