Steam & Excursion > Wheel Arrangement on Frisco #706Date: 01/04/19 19:13 Wheel Arrangement on Frisco #706 Author: UP951West I could use some "hep" from some of you Frisco steam experts.
A good friend told me about a derailment of Frisco #706 at Goltry, OK in December ,1946 on the Avard Sub in central OK. What was the wheel arrangement of #706. When was it sold for scrap ? THANKS. Date: 01/04/19 19:44 Re: Wheel Arrangement on Frisco #706 Author: gbmott SLSF 706 was a 4-6-0 built by Alco-Brooks in June 1906. I don't know the scrapping date but some of that series lasted right to the end of steam. This photo of 706 was taken in Tulsa 2-29-48 by J. L. Hoffman.

I had these photos of the wreck in my files. I don't know who to credit the photographer. I'm amazed that you had these old images from 1946. --Kelly
