Date: 02/10/19 19:23 Re: SP 2-8-8-2 cab forward ('48) Author: Earlk 4024 was built as a MC-4 compound (MC = Mallet Consolidation)in 1911 and rebuilt as a simple engine classed AC-6 (AC = Articulated Consolidation)in the late 1920's. I always liked the look of these rebuilt compounds with the big Worthington BL feed water heater along with a HUGE Simplex injector (I think it was a number 15 or so) still mounted on the fireman's side. It looks like that big gun is running in this shot.
