5 Years Ago at Strasburg---An Amazing Day
Author: Tominde

On the Strasburg opening weekend of 2014, Carl Franz operated a photo freight charter using the Strasburg's vintage freight cars.  This past weekend #89 pulled revenue freight on the Strasburg.  In 2014 there was already close to a foot of snow on the ground and it snow most of the day.  It was an ideal winter steam trip.  Well perhaps a little less wind would have been nice. I may have previously posted some of these, or something similar 5 years.

A little black and whit since color was at a minimum this day.  The falling snow almost adds a grainey look to the B&W.

Your photos are nice; however, I appreciate it even more in this day and age when the Strasburg operates their locomotives pulling revenue freight that makes them money.

I'll take a well done period photo freight these days over any contemporary train loaded with graffiti.  The latter has pretty well zeroed out my railfan photography these days, other than heritage/tourist operations and passenger trains.
